about

"We were in the Belmont, this narrow hallway of a joint just feeding down into the pressure cooker stage; and these freaks, laced up in retro-threads and speckled in sweat, themselves not quite possessed and not so much confused but certainly incensed in the best way possible, were ricocheting off each other in this cathartic flirtation with self-destruction - could the rhythm be accelerated, could more notes be squeezed in, was there enough left in his voice to curdle out more quavery, blood-boiling barks. Reverence for those 60's sounds, sure; but micro-brewed as their own signature swill of nitroglycerin, and stirring it up just a little bit more, with just a little bit more crack-eyed, glorified grinning madness with each successive song - It was not the moment, just -a- moment, but a key-moment; awesome and acerbic bricks falling into place to prop up what's only become an even more unwieldy / vibrant / wide-spreading wilderness of sounds and styles...whatever Detroit Music is today, certainly started churning up more vigorously after a night like THIS one..." - JEFF MILO

WILDCATTING (Later Bars of Gold, Crappy Future, etc.) teamed up with singer Kyle McBee to celebrate his birthday and performed a high energy set of Stooges and MC5 covers. Jeff Howitt (of Duende!) was on hand to lend his vox to "Looking at You."

It was documented. Here it is, warts and all. "thankyou thankyou".

Originally billed as "Kyle McBee+Surprise Guests" because WILDCATTING had another gig across town either that night or that weekend. Later known as "KyleCATTING" the guys have only teamed up this once. So far.
